Privacy Policy

Last updated 12 September 2026. This lists what we actually store, field by field, rather than describing it in categories. If something here surprises you, that is worth telling us.

What we store about you

Your account. Email address, a hashed password, and optionally your company name and UEI if you enter them. The password is stored as a hash — we cannot read it, and neither can anyone who takes a copy of the database.

Your subscription. Plan, status, trial end date, and the Stripe identifiers that link your account to your payments.

What you track. The industry codes, agencies and filters you save, and whether you want to be alerted on them.

What you do here. We log the searches you run and the notices you open — the action, the industry code, the agency, and a timestamp. This is the part most policies bury, so: yes, we record which contracts you looked at.

Why we log activity

One reason, and it is a business reason rather than an advertising one. The product tells you to look outside your own industry code. We need to know whether subscribers actually do that, or whether everyone quietly clusters into the same handful of codes — because if they cluster, we are creating the crowd this product exists to help you avoid.

That question decides whether we ever limit how many subscribers we take. We would rather answer it from what people really do than from a number we guessed. We do not sell this data, share it with advertisers, or use it to build a profile of you for anyone else.

What we never have

Your card number. Checkout is hosted by Stripe. Your card details go from your browser to Stripe and never pass through, or rest on, our servers. What we hold is a Stripe customer reference and the subscription status attached to it. If our database were stolen tomorrow, no card number would be in it.

Who else touches your data

Stripe — payments and subscription billing. They receive your email and payment details and are bound by their own privacy terms.

Our hosting provider — the server this runs on. Standard web server logs include IP addresses, as they do on every site.

That is the whole list. No analytics network, no advertising pixels, no data brokers, no third-party trackers on the application pages.

One cookie of our own. The sales pages set a random id in a first-party cookie so we can tell which version of the page a visitor saw and whether they later subscribed. It holds no name, email or IP address, goes to no one else, and expires after a year.

The contract data itself

Everything we analyse about federal contracting comes from public government sources — the SAM.gov daily extract and the USAspending.gov and FPDS award archives, both public domain. If your company appears in federal award history, that record is already public and we did not put it there. We cannot remove it from the federal record, and neither can you through us.

Email

We use your email address to run your account — alerts you asked for, billing notices, and messages about the service. We do not sell or rent it, and we do not send it to anyone else's marketing list.

Your choices

Ask us and we will tell you everything we hold about you, correct anything wrong, or delete your account and its data. Deletion removes your account, your saved filters, your tracked interests and your activity log.

We keep billing records after deletion where we are required to — tax and accounting rules oblige us to retain invoice history. Write to support@uncontestedbids.com for any of this.
